Modbus® to Ethernet
Schneider
Electric’s new, low-cost ConneXium TSXETG100 Gateway
provides easy connectivity from any Modbus® serial line compatible
device on the factory floor or remote location into an Ethernet-based
communication network.
The TSXETG100 provides Ethernet connectivity
to any Modbus serial
master or slave device. Total flexibility of controlling data is possible
by originating a Modbus Master command from a serial link device or
from the Ethernet-connected device. Power-over-Ethernet provides unit
power directly from the Ethernet link cable, reducing cost, time, and
effort during startup. Users can monitor or diagnose system data through
a standard web browser, eliminating the need of specialized software.
The ConneXium Modbus Plus™ to Ethernet
Bridge is a
powerful web-enabled gateway bridge connecting two long-time
Modicon® standard networks for transparent
access and data flow. The bridge, part number
174 CEV 200 40, functions as a message router between devices addressable
on each network and allows real-time direct transfer (no conversion)
of all programming and data exchange function codes in both directions.*
Designed for ease of setup, a default
configuration is installed so the bridge is ready to operate immediately.
A simple web-based console allows access to configuration and diagnostics
from any computer on a plant LAN. Most of the configuration can be
done on-line, without stopping or restarting the bridge. No special
configuration of data transfer tables is needed.
Note:
Unity Pro™ application development and diagnostics software is now fully capable of bi-directional communications from both sides of these networks. So now, whether you have Modbus
Plus or Ethernet Modbus/TCP as your PC network connection, you can access all device information needed to effectively control and monitor your systems.
