The Modicon M238 PLC delivers high performance, easy installation and a modular design in a small, economical controller. The M238 PLC is ideal for packaging, conveying, hoisting and other machines requiring both power and flexibility. The Modicon M238 PLC streamlines machine design by utilizing Schneider Electric’s flexible machine control solution called SoMachine™ software that embeds intelligence in four basic hardware platforms. This powerful combination allows OEMs to get solutions to market faster by:

• Optimizing the hardware control platform by embedding intelligence in drives, HMI displays, motion and logic control products.
• Simplifying machine programming and commissioning by using a single software tool to design, commission and maintain multiple machines.
• Pre-configuring architectures and application function blocks that can be easily adapted to specific applications.

As the newest addition to the complete line of Modicon PLCs and PACs, the Modicon M238 PLC builds upon a 40-year tradition of excellence and reliability and adds functionality such as:

• An embedded High Speed Counter (HSC) for counting pulses and update outputs regardless of the scan time of the application
• One CANopen master to manage 16 devices that is open to third party devices
• Up to 8 High Speed Counters (100 KHz)
• Up to 7 expansion modules (up to 248 digital IOs, up to 56 analog IOs)
